After a blissful 2 days spent at Jervis Bay, it's time to move onwards on our journey across Australia. Got up at 5.30 for a last walk down to the beach and although we'll be sad to leave I know there will be plenty more beautiful places to visit along the way.
Not sure where we will end up today, we have a rough plan of our road trip but will stop whenever and wherever the mood takes us :)
Up and at 'Em early for a last visit to the beach
Checked the nature cam this morning but sadly nothing on it! Did find this on the bridge by the beach tho' :)
Lil' spidey!
I don't know, you go on holiday with your fiancé and he pulls not just one bird..
Smug 😌
But a pair of them!
'Please don't poo down my only clean shirt'
They are beautiful though :)
So many different colours!
We're off!
just set off towards Melbourne. We were going to take the Hume Highway across country but decided to go the coastal route via Princes Highway instead, it adds another 400km to the journey but will be much nicer I think :)
It's 10.20 am and the temperature is 36c
First main leg of our journey
Jervis Bay is just off the top right of the map & Melbourne is in the bottom left (dark patch)
Thank 'the inventor of Aircon' for Aircon! Today it's been 37c pretty much the whole time we've been on the road!
After about 100km we stopped off at a quaint little town called Bodalla to post some postcards (which will hopefully arrive in England before we do!) and to get a coffee at the lovely little bakery/cafe.

Don't know what these flowers are but the butterflies love them :)
200 km later I saw a sign for Mystery Bay and it sounded too interesting to ignore!
With its name, big rocks and crashing waves, this little gem reminded us of Cornwall on a very hot Day!! The sand wasn't as white as at Jervis but it still squeaked when you walked on it due to its powdery texture.

Found this beautiful piece of natural art on the beach at Mystery Bay (sadly I had to leave it as customs wouldn't approve :()
Lee with his GoPro!
Shy little crab :)
Back on the road (and about 5 hours behind our loose schedule due to the uncontrollable urge to stop and explore!), the thought hadn't really crossed our minds that a lot of campsites would be booked up due to the Christmas Hols..
Still can't get my head around the fact that it's Christmas in less than 2 weeks!
...but unfortunately that's how it is, so after searching Google relentlessly we found a promising sounding site (Eden Beachfront Holiday Park) just off the Princes Highway and managed to secure a pitch on the phone.
Here is the view from our van...
Lucky we are :)
Some more of this idyllic place

Lee was off for a swim but changed his mind!
