After an amazing whirlwind of a weekend in beautiful Sydney we are about to embark on our 3 and a half thousand mile adventure across Australia!
Happy travellers :)
We can't wait to see and experience all Australia has to show us and hope you will keep following for more photos and snippets of the journey.
Our home for the next 2 weeks!
About to leave Sydney
Christmas on the beach!
Bought this 'made in Australia' hat 10 years ago from the 3 Counties Show in Malvern and now I finally get to wear it in Oz :)
On our way to Green Patch Campsite, Jervis Bay :)
Lovely bit of road :)
And now it's raining haha :)
At least it's warm :) 25c
Just stopped at Nowra and got besieged by hundreds of bloody flies, yuk! Now we've got to buy wine 🍷 so I can sew some corks to my hat 😬
Booderee National Park, Jervis Bay
Before we left England I Googled ‘Whitest sand in the world’ and one of the top results was Jervis bay and they were not lying! The photos don’t do the bright whiteness of the sand justice and it is so fine it squeaks when you walk on it!
Paradise :)
Squeaky white powder sand!
Sandy feet!
A few first captures of wallabies in the wild - hopefully there will be lots more :)
Wallaby
Colourful Parrot :)
When this Grey Kangaroo came slowly loping across the creek towards me, I was actually pretty nervous because although greys aren’t as large as the Giant Red roos; he was still pretty huge, standing around 5 feet tall. Just as I picked up my tripod getting ready to defend myself against an attack, he took one last look and hopped away! I can’t say I wasn’t relieved although it was still a really exciting experience too!
Kangaroo!
Kookaburra
Check out that white sand!
Today's been another busy day ending in a chilled out trip to this beautiful beach, where we are camped just a few minutes walk away! We're hoping to go back down early tomorrow as dawn and dusk are prime times for me to 'shoot' the animals out and about and for Lee to capture the amazing sounds of nature with his sound recorder :)
